What I like about my Sunday afternoon walk

WHAT I like about the notes I made is that it might help others know that there are lots of things mostly like them.

Notes on Sunday Afternoon Nature Walk

Giant Leaves.
Lily Pads.
Big Trees.
Grass and Flowers.

My adventures

sitting in the car for three or four days.

living in a trailer for a whole week.

going to the pool.

meeting girls in my class at church (and two boys).

going to the big park and small park.

getting a new watch.

We are in the kitchen in a trailer in a campground in Maryland. There are ticks here (not in the kitchen) too. I haven't been bitten by one and I hope I am never bitten by one.

There are trailers, cabins, and tents. There are two playgrounds, a miniature golf course and a pool. There is a sign at the pool that says "Welcome to our Ool. Notice there is no P in it. Please keep it that way." I think the sign is weird.

I have gone to the Air and Space Museum and the Natural History Museum. I saw a huge jellyfish and real gold foil on the space ship. The jellyfish wasn't on the spaceship. That's all for now, but I'm looking forward to seeing mummies and the Native American museum. It looks like it was carved out of stone.

Nauvoo, Illinois

Nauvoo is the name of a town in Illinois. I've been to Nauvoo twice and the second time I was camping. It was more fun. I went just a couple of days ago with my family and my aunt and uncle. Nauvoo is about the pioneers and you can get a brick or a cookie at some places. The brick place shows how pioneers used to make bricks and the cookie place was an old bakery that a man used to own. They give you a cookie if you're good. The drive there was horrible. It took four hours and I just tried to take a nap between my aunt and Medium Jasmine. I read a book that had a bunch of mazes in it and it made me carsick. I almost threw up on my aunt. She said, "Don't throw up on me!" After the drive we set up our tent and things and I met a friend. I had been waiting for hours and then her car parked at a campsite just down the hill from ours and I went and met her.

The next day I went fishing and caught three bluegills. Fishing is my new favorite sport. We also went and played a game at this place called "Pioneer Pastimes." You get to dress up and play games and things. In Nauvoo, there are a bunch of houses that are like museums, except you get a guide every time. On Saturday night we went to a show that had some of the coolest things in it. It was a live play and there was a hoop dance and some people got to learn how to do the hula. There was dancing and singing and skits and all the kids got to do a parade.

When you go, make sure you get an "A" when you visit the schoolhouse! And make sure you stay away from poison ivy. I have it on my leg and it hurts. And also, close your eyes on the oxen ride, cause I didn't. They use the bathroom when they're walking! It was very yucky!

Finding books

My mom started packing the books. We got to pick books to keep out. I found lots of books that I wanted to read. One of them was Doll Hospital--Tatiana Comes to America. In the book, two girls went to their grandmother's house and their grandmother was a doll doctor. She fixed dolls when they were broken. The Tatiana doll somehow told them a story with their grandmother saying the words. It was a story about, Anya, her owner and how it had been before she started getting fixed up. It's a good book. I think girls ages 6 and 7 would like to read it, because when I first was 6, I read it. And now I'm 7, I want others to read it.

Moving

Well, I hate moving.  Because we have to drive so long and get my bum stuck to the seat.  But it's kind of fun to meet new friends.  Right now we're packing and talking to people on the phone.  This time we're moving to a city and then a whole different country.  Our toys have already been packed (but sometimes we get them out and put them back.)  The books are going to be packed into millions of boxes.  I hate that!  It's a probability of ZERO that I can finish all the books in the house before we move.

Moving

I'm not very excited about moving because I'm going to miss my friends.  We're moving to Czech Republic.  First, we're moving to Washington, D.C.  We're going to learn a new language--that will be fun.  I don't want to move!!!

I'm excited to move to Washington, D.C. and Czech Republic.  I'm really excited to learn the language.  I know how to say Excuse me.  It's Promente.  It also means pardon.    

Big Jasmine

My name is Big Jasmine or Miss Adventure. I’m not really much of a storybook princess. Here are some facts about me:

I’m an adventurer (Well, not exactly, but I’m training for it.)

I like to explore things. I like to explore everywhere, especially the “Scream Your Lungs Out Bridge” at my friend’s house. There’s always new things and they’re so fun.

I am eight and a half years old.

I love to learn about science.

I love to read about magic. I’ve read all of the Harry Potter books at least three times (except the last two: they gave me nightmares.)

Medium Jasmine

Hi. My name is Medium Jasmine (Star Girl). I am 7 years old (almost. One more month!) I like to read Junie B. Jones books and the Magic Treehouse. I also like to read the Friend magazine and the Science Encyclopedia. I am a big fan of catalogues that have things to order. My favorite kind of books are encyclopedias because they help me learn about a few things. I am missing two teeth and have one that’s wiggly.

Little Jasmine (Sprinkle Donut)

I am five years old. My name is Little Jasmine. I love my mom. I love my family. I like to write letters. I like to hold Tiny Baby Jasmine (my little sister.)
